The Termite ransomware gang has claimed responsibility for breaching Genea, one of Australia's largest fertility service providers, stealing 940.7GB of sensitive patient data.

The attackers infiltrated the network via a Citrix server, gaining access to critical systems, including medical records, appointment details, and insurance information. While financial data appears unaffected, the investigation is ongoing. Genea has obtained a court injunction to prevent data distribution and is working with cybersecurity authorities.

Termite, a ransomware operation active since October 2024, continues targeting global industries, using a variant of the Babuk ransomware.
